Hi, my name is Chris, and I am the owner of Mediaworks. Thank you for stopping by. I take great pride in providing the very best video transfers I can, using professional decks and capture equipment, with quick turnaround and at a reasonable price. My equipment and experience allows me to handle issues that can arise that someone using consumer-grade equipment will not be able to overcome, including many nationally-known companies. I fix broken tapes, edit out gaps in your video and perform basic picture/audio adjustments at no extra cost to you. I do this because that is what I have done with my family’s home movies, and I treat yours like I would treat my own.

I have recently made the decision to take a full-time job as a video editor, but I will continue to provide my video transfer services. I have closed the Midtown location, but appointments can be made by phone or by email, and I will do my very best to accommodate you and provide the same customer service I always have. Helping others preserve their precious family memories is a labor of love for me, and I look forward to serving you.

I have been digitizing analog video for over 20 years, and though the technology may change, my commitment to excellent service remains the same. Today, my standard video transfer service is to convert analog tapes to digital MP4 files, delivered on a USB drive. These files are universal to both PCs and Macs, easy to upload/share, fully editable, and are a manageable file size. They can be stored on a flash drive, hard drive, computer, device or in the cloud.

If you prefer DVDs, I can convert each tape to its own DVD or combine multiple tapes onto a single DVD (up to 2 hrs), creating a custom chapter for each.

I can transfer from Betamax, VHS, SVHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Digital8, miniDV/HDV, and audio cassette. I also have some broadcast format capabilities (additional charges may apply), such as BetacamSP, DVCam and DVCPro. I am not able to transfer film.

I charge $20 per tape for transfers to .mp4 on a USB drive, and $30/tape for transfers to dvd (USB also included). Some possible additional charges are listed below.

Additional Options

Tape length between 2.5hrs - 4hrs* additional $10 per tape
Tape length between 4hrs - 6hrs* additional $20 per tape
Additional DVD copies $5 per dvd
Additional USB drives starting at $10 per drive
Audio cassette to mp3 $20 per tape

* Tape length according to captured video. If there is, for example, 1 hour of home movies and 4 hours of television programming, only the desired footage is captured and billed accordingly.

My goal is to transfer your VHS tapes to digital with the highest picture and sound quality. One of the biggest factors when it comes to video quality, however, is the quality of the original tape. If the tape was stored in poor conditions or was recorded in LP or EP modes, the transfer quality will not be as good when compared to converting a tape in excellent condition.

All transfers are done in-house, and I treat your videos with the care I would my own.
